Details
Our winter duck hunting takes place on the St. Lawrence River, Lake Ontario, or in the Finger Lakes Region. We hunt a mix of boat blinds and shore blinds on the big water. We also gun fields for Mallards, Black Ducks, and Canada Geese. This is the best time of the year to chase divers on big water and can be an exceptional time to kill big fat migrating Mallards and Black Ducks. The St. Lawrence River and Finger Lakes Region winter huge numbers of migrating waterfowl. Many trophy species exist this time of the year and we will be set on any given day to hunt the type of birds you want, however we will hunt what the weather and bird patterns dictate. Like with all winter duck hunting anywhere, weather plays a huge factor in the success of any given day. All of our big water guides possess a USCG Captain's License. All of our winter duck hunts start at legal shooting time, half hour before sunrise, and will go until 1:00 P.M., unless the guide feels there will be additional opportunities later in the day.
When Canada Goose season is open we will target Canada Geese when it is possible. Any party will have the right to hunt geese if they choose instead of ducks. Afternoon Canada Goose hunts can be added on to your hunt package when possible.
